Last week my mom took Mabel to Salina for a little one-on-one time for a few days. This afternoon, it was Sam's turn to go to Salina. The contrast between Mabel and Sam was priceless today. Sam was skipping in the driveway and jumped right in Grandma's car. Mabel, on the other hand was screaming with snot and tears running down her face. Grandma finally took her for a drive around the block and she seemed better, until she saw Grandma drive away with Sam and then the tears and snot started streaming again. To cheer her up, we painted her fingernails and settled down for a nap. She had a rough time falling asleep because she kept rolling over and saying, "I see Grandma tomorrow?" and "I need Sam". Hopefully when she wakes up, she'll be rested and in a much better mood. I guess this goes to show that Grandmas are much more fun than Moms.
