Running Log

This was our last 5K three years ago.

We're working up to a 5K and don't want to come in dead last (or just plain dead), so we're timing ourselves and setting speed goals (we said goals, not records). Keep in mind we're not what you'd call an "athletic" family (Crimeny, Mabel can run faster than us), so please don't laugh at our times...it is not for your entertainment, but more for our inspiration.

It's taken us nearly three months of training to get our times good enough to even consider posting on our blog, but we still hope to improve (we've come a long, long way). We live at the top of a hill, so our first mile is usually downhill (and much faster) than the return trip. We have to climb up a 150 foot hill just to get home...exhausting.

The neighbors have grown accustomed to watching us run by (we're probably their most exciting source of entertainment). If they don't comment while we run by their house, they bring it up in church. Some of the comments are "daddy, why is she running?", "lookin' good", and whistles (from a member of the stake presidency, nonetheless).

While asking another neighbor about her running, she told Nick, "you should train/run with my brother, he runs marathons". Only good things could come from that.

Check out our running log on the side bar and watch us improve (hopefully). If you feel that this is also your most exciting source of entertainment, only positive comments are welcome (we need a self-esteem boost).

Keep it up.
We need to go running together sometime. Are you going to run through the winter, too?

I just can't believe how motivated you are, especially with "running".... my very most unfavorite thing to do. Ash, you're amazin' since I know how much you loved ????? running in your earlier year. Nick, she must really, really love you! Good luck with your goal!

Love, MOM
