Halloween

Mabel as Elmo and Sam as Frankenstein

Max as Frankenstein Jr.

On their way out to get candy!
Halloween was more exhausting this year than I remember it being when I was a kid. Annette came to hand out Halloween candy so both Nick and I could take the kids around the neighborhood, and we were pooped by the time we got home. Sam doesn't walk super fast so it took a long time to get from house to house and then taking them in and out of the stroller a dozen times and up and down stairs is just exhausting. Max was in the front pack which made my back ache so I switched Nick about half way through and his back hurt when we got home. However, the kids had fun and could even say trick-or-treat and thank you.
They got hungry while we were trick-or-treating and had to open a treat. Sam was super excited when he got a cheese stick and started chewing on it before the wrapper was off. Because there aren't many kids in the neighborhood, our neighbors were VERY generous. They usually got two pieces of candy and even got some play-dough and one house gave everyone a dollar, even mom, dad, and Max got one!
We also went and voted early this year. We stood in line for about 40 mintues with all three kids. We hear that the lines on Tuesday will be even longer, so we hope we made a good decision. Since the kids were so patient while standing in a boring line, we got them a slurpee!

The kids look so very cute in their costumes...and Max had to be a big tough guy too. I'm sure Daddy had a lot to do with that one.

Sounds like they had a great time...now Mom and Dad, well that's debatable.
