Fourth of July

This year we went to Salina on Friday to celebrate the Fourth of July on Saturday.  We started out the day by putting on our red, white, and blue outfits and eating a good breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and fruit!
We then decided that since everyone looked so festive that we should take a few pictures.  The kids posed for the occasion!

We then headed over to the town carnival and let the kids do some games.  Mabel and Sam went down the dolphin slide.
They all enjoyed some fishing.
And the silly little prizes.
They even did a bean bag toss and got a real goldfish.
Max was more than happy to try the soda pop ring toss just to get the consolation prize of an otter pop!
Mabel tried her hand at throwing darts...she throws just like a girl should.
Sam really enjoyed some cotton candy (so did mommy)!
And what would the Fourth of July be without snow cones?
After a BBQ and a nap, we enjoyed the Salina parade.
We let the kids stay up late on Saturday night to watch the fireworks, but it took forever for them to start, so Max didn't make it.
On Monday night, we had a few fireworks for the kids at our house.  They loved to take turns each picking the next firework to light off.  Max was again up past bedtime and struggled with his excitement.
Happy Fourth of July!

A fun post. I loved seeing all the cute pix. We sure loved having you here for the 4th. It's lonesome without you and all the little kiddle excitment.

We just noticed the photo of Max and Sam picking their noses. We had a little chuckle. Looks like you had a lot of fun.
