Snowbird Aerial Tram

We had another fun-filled weekend.  Nick took the day off on Friday and we went up to Snowbird to ride the tram to Hidden Peak.  We packed a picnic lunch and invited Nick's mom to join us.  Sam got a little scared on the tram, but they all seemed to have a good time.  The above picture looks really cool--it's as if Sam is enjoying the beautiful panaramic views from the warming hut, but he is really just looking at the 4-wheelers they had parked at the top during our picnic lunch.

They had an excavator on top that interested the kids.  (I actually know what kind of truck this is thanks to Sam's truck book that we've almost memorized.)

Here's the family in the tram before we went to the top.  It took 12 minutes to climb 2900 vertical feet up 1.6 miles of cable.

There weren't very good hiking trails at the top (at least for a 3, 2, and 1 year old) so we took a small hike when we got back to the bottom.  Sam's highlight was a large stick that he found.  He nearly took out Max with it, but he was sure proud of his stick.  We're glad that we went with the easy trail because even on the flat terrain all three kids managed to fall down.  Sam's running face plant was the highlight.

Here's a picture of me and the three kids last June when we went on the tram.  Mabel (2 1/2 years), Sam (1 year) and Max (T minus 1 month).

On Saturday we went to Logan for my Grandma's 85th birthday celebration, but I didn't get any pictures.  On Sunday, Kristen came over for dinner and the kids helped make sugar cookies.  They ate a lot of dough and made a BIG mess.

Great post. For some crazy reason, I can't sleep tonight, so I'm up looking at your blog and doing other computer related things. Thanks for posting, so I'd have something interesting to do tonight.

The kids are soooo very cute, as always. I sure enjoyed seeing you on the weekend, if only for a short while.
