JWST PMBSS CDA

Today Nick gave an hour long presentation in front of people from NASA, Northrup Grumman, and ATK to finalize the JWST (James Webb Space Telescope) PMBSS (Primary Mirror Backplane Support Structure).  So the final meeting is called a CDA (Critical Design Audit)--They like accronyms at ATK (Alliant Techsystems)!  Hence, he went to the ATK JWST PMBSS CDA!!!  It's a three day meeting with all the fanciest foods, clothes, and novelty gifts.  Nick already has a JWST hat, cup, towel, and stickers, so he's excited to see what they'll be handing out.
Nick has worked at ATK on the JWST for three and half years and has really enjoyed this project.  We are very proud of Nick and are very glad for his job.
This is the PMBSS under construction where Nick works.
This is an artist's rendering of what the JWST will look like in space.
Here's Nick before he left for work this morning.  He let me pick out his outfit which was a monumental event...he never let's me pick out his clothes.  Someone even mentioned that he looked "dapper"!!  He sure looked more spiffy than the jeans and hiking shoes he usually wears on a day-to-day basis.
Here's Nick heading to work in his JWST jacket.  Here's the cool towel I was telling you about--who wouldn't want to be seen at the pool with that baby!

NYACF That's short for "Nick, You're a Cool Fox!" You look great in your new attire. Hope all is going well this week. We're also very proud of you. You must be a really smart guy working on something that looks so totally alien to me.

KUTGW (Keep up the great work!)

Great work Nick! I'm impressed and I don't know anything about all those initials. Way to go!
