Zoos and Babies

I love summer. It is usually filled with all kinds of fun outdoor activities. On Saturday, we took the kids to the zoo to see the new baby giraffe. It was born Thursday afternoon and was only two days old when we saw it. It was 6 feet tall and weighed 120 pounds when it was born. They grow about an inch a day. It was really sweet to see the new baby. The zoo is expecting a baby elephant in August, so we'll probably go back to see that too since we have our zoo membership.
They put the tiger's breakfast right by the viewing window, so it was pretty cool watching him eat his breakfast.

Then yesterday, we went to Springville for little Aliza Lou's baby blessing. Tyler did such a nice job and Lizzy is so adorable, that it couldn't have been any better.

It has become tradition that all the new baby blessings, grandma and grandpa get their pictures with the grandkids. It is really quite comical to watch them try to get a good picture with, let alone hold so many grandkids. This is one of the best pictures we got.

The only problem with summer that it can be hot and tiring. Here's what the kids looked like on the ride home from the baby blessing.
