Bunnies and Squirrels and More, Oh My!

This week has been fun and stressful as usual. On Wednesday, we went over to neighbor's house to see their 3-week old baby bunnies. They invited us over last year and this year was even more fun since the kids are older. He raises them himself and they love to invite all the neighbor kids over to see the bunnies. They have a fun backyard with a slide, sandbox, swing set, a three-story treehouse, and even a zipline. So to say the least, when we returned yesterday to take them some zucchini bread as a thank-you, the kids got very excited and we had to stay and play for awhile.

We also have another pet--a squirrel. We live in a densely populated area, so we were very surprised to see him running around our back door and yard, but he seems to be friendly so far. He's big--about a foot long and then his tail measures about 6-8 inches on top of that. Both of our neighbors have noticed him running around too. The only thing that worries me about him is if he gets in the house since the kids leave the back door open. But he's friendly enough, so I guess he can stay.

On Monday, Max and I both woke up with a stomach bug that brought throw up and diarrhea for two days. We are both doing much better now, but last night Mabel and Sam were both up throwing up. Since I'm expecting diarrhea to follow, I told them this morning "If you feel like you need to go poo-poo, run to the bathroom as fast as you can!"

I love the innocence of little children and baby animals. I can see that Mabel is thouroghly enjoying her experience. How cute!
