Just a few tid-bits of what's been happening around here in the last few days.
Two big purchases:
We sold our house! To ourselves! And for good measure, because we're such nice people, we gave the bank a nice little chunk of change for doing the paperwork. And we did get a much lower interest rate. That was the first "purchase". The second purchase was a house warming gift - for ourselves (after all, we did just buy our house, again). After more than five years of sitting on a DI couch we decided to get new furniture. We purchased the finest, most luxurious and elegant micro-fiber that money can buy. Well maybe not that nice, but compared to our current furniture, it's heaven in a cushion. Supposedly micro-fiber is fairly kid proof, but we've got three kids who can't wait to put that theory to the test.
Mabel's big day at church:
Mabel wore regular underwear to church for the first time today! And all of the My Little Ponies on her underwear came home dry. Good job Mabel!
Christmas is officially over:
Now that all the snow is off the roof, Nick finally took down the outside Christmas lights this weekend. He was especially careful up on the ladder now that we've all realized just how dangerous ladders and Christmas lights can be. Thanks Dad!
The downside of anger:
We went to Burger King for our Friday-night date (the kids made it extra romantic) and Nick got the new Angry Whopper. It is described as "The hottest whopper ever - featuring angry onions, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese and an angry sauce". As delicious as that sounds, it had the unpleasant side-effect of angry gas, which made for an angry family. More proof that nothing good can come from anger.

Congrats on the new purchases!! Wow a new house, i had no idea you were going to buy a new house!!! I hope your rate was good! I bet you are so excited for the couch!! Let me know how kid proof it is, I think our couch is the same thing? Maybe? That is so funny about the angry whopper. Two nights ago Mike wanted to try one but we thought it was from Carls Jr. so when I asked for the angry star (as we thought it was called) they just stared at us.

You crack me up! I can't believe he even attempted the "angry whopper!" You will LOVE your microfiber couch!! We don't know how we got by for so long without one...everything comes right off and it still looks spankin new!! :)
I enjoyed every charming word of this posting! Soooooo fun to read. I chuckled, especially about Nick's bravery on that crazy burger. Was it even good going down? My stomach would NEVER be able to handle that monster!!! Sounds like Nick's didn't handle it very well either.
