It seems like we are having SO much fun on the weekends lately, that it is hard to come up with activities to do during the week to be nearly as much fun. On Friday afternoon, we headed up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton and took a "hike" (so to speak) around Silver Lake. The whole walking trail is wheel chair accessible and was only 0.75 miles. It was a great outing, except for all the other people. This is the only picture I got before my battery died.
That evening, the kids enjoyed some orange dream bars before bed. After enjoying a small treat, they helped us pick cherries out of our cherry tree.
Early Saturday morning, Nick ran in the West Fest 5K. Afterwards, my sister, Brooke, and I went to cheer the kids on in their kiddie race. We thought that they would be in different age divisions, but they all got to run together in the same (4 and under) race.
Mabel took off running and did really well.
The boys, on the other hand, needed a little encouragement from daddy to make it across the finish line.
I'm so proud of all my runners! I'm a little sad that I couldn't run this year. Next year, I'll be there!
After the race, we loaded up the van and headed to Logan for the day with Aunt Brooke and Kristen. When we got there, we had a picnic lunch at the park and then went on the Famous Aggie Ice Cream tour. We got some ice cream afterwards and drove around our Alma-mater to reminisce on good times and observe the changes. Utah State will always have a special place in our hearts!!
After our lovely tour around campus (minus the parking garage that we got stuck in), we drove up to Smithfield to see our cousin, Alyson's new house. My Aunt Jalean and Uncle Mike were there as well and it was fun to visit and see her cute house!
After leaving Alyson's house, we drove to Wellsville to see my Grandma and Grandpa Spence. We only got to stay about an hour or so, but so enjoyed seeing them again. Grandma was in true fashion and offered us an ice cream bar.
Max loved his Great Grandpa Spence.
Grandma Spence playing with Sam.
Grandpa Spence will be 88 this year and Grandma Spence will be 86. They are such wonderful and welcoming grandparents.
My mom was visiting with them this week and enjoyed a little grand kid time as well while we were there.
It's amazing how much love I have for these three little kiddies. Today was my first day back in Relief Society (they released me from a primary teacher and called me to be a RS teacher) and I couldn't believe how much I missed my little class and even more than that, how much I missed watching Mabel during Sharing Time. I truly love these little treasures!!

Your weekend looked so fun. Love the pix of your kidlets with Grandpa and Grandma Spence. I hope they are old enough to remember them as life moves on.
Love,
"Papa"
