They unpacked it Thursday night and started assembling it on Friday morning at about 6:30 a.m. By the time I left for Salina around 8:30 a.m. this is what it looked like:
I left Friday with the kids and left Nick a long "honey-do" list and returned to this:
He said they finished assembling the swingset in about 8 hours...(the instruction booklet said it would take 2 adults about 10-12 hours, so they were above average!)
And this:
(If you can't tell, there is two coats of stain on the deck...see the water beading up!)
And I asked my dad if he wouldn't mind help set up the bunk beds while he was here as well. When the boys got home on Monday night, they were more excited about the bunk beds than the swingset. We were going to wait a few more weeks to move Max into his new bed, but he climbed right in and fell asleep in his new room and big bed without a single problem. So bye-bye crib for Max. Sam was the one who was more excited about climbing up and down the ladder and found every excuse to get out of bed. "I need to go potty" and "I need a drink" were popular until daddy threatened to take off his ladder if he got out of bed again.
I still need to get Max a bedspread, but he doesn't mind one bit. I think I also want Nick to move the ladder to the other side so their heads will sleep on the right of the bed. (I don't know why that matters, but it just seems better to have their head away from the door.)
When daddy got home from work today, the boys invited daddy up to play on the new bed with them.
I feel a little outnumbered by boys this week since Mabel stayed at Grandma's house for some fun one-on-one time with Grandma and Grandpa. She'll get to play until Saturday and then Sam will get to go for some one-on-one time next week. Mabel will still stay in the bedroom with Sam and Max until the baby is old enough (about a year or so old) and then Mabel will get her own room and the new boy will move in with the boys.

Very cool!
I have been waiting to see pictures of the new swing set. Great choice; it looks sooooo fun! You'll love having your own "park" in your backyard. What a wonderful surprise for you and the kids!
