It's Always Fun When Grandma Comes

My mom came up this week to visit for a few days. It's always fun when she comes, we do such fun things, and we usually end up exhausted. She came up Wednesday night, and we went out to dinner and took the kids to the park. Thursday, we took the kids to the Discovery Gateway children's museum. We signed Mabel and Sam up for the bubble class.

All three of the kids loved the balls, but especially Max.

On Saturday, we went on the Heber Creeper train. It was a lot of fun. It started in Heber and went down the Provo River, around Deer Creek Reservoir, and to Vivian Park by Provo. Then it turned around and went back. Round trip was three hours.

On the trip there, we sat in the back coach. After walking around, we realized that it was much cooler in an open cart, so we sat in the open cart on the way back.

They had the steam engine pulling the train while we were there.

It kept blowing of steam. By the time it got back to us, it felt like a cool mist, which was much needed on this 100 degree day.

The steam engine also rains coal chunks. It was all over our hair, faces, and shirts. Sam took off his flip-flops and we didn't realize it. When Nick checked his feet, they were black as coal!
