Happy Birthday Max

Max's first birthday was on Saturday, but we didn't celebrate it too much because we were up on the mountain. So on Monday, we invited Aunt Kristen to come over to celebrate with us. We ate Max's favorite foods: hot dogs and fruit.
Max had a ton of fun opening his present. He would rip a small piece of the paper off and just giggle as he ran around with it. It took him a while to realize that there was something under the paper. Mabel and Sam stepped in and helped him open it.

Mabel and Sam also took responsibility in teaching Max how to play with his new car garage too.

Next, we had cake. I made a car cake this year to go along with his car garage. Every time Max plays with a toy car he makes car noises....very cute.

Max got his own sports car cake too.

Max didn't quite know what to think of everything at first, but he soon became a pro.

It's hard to believe that Max is already a year old. He has a very cute personality and is starting to communicate a little more. Every night after family prayers, we always ask Mabel and Sam to give us a hug. Just this week, Max opened his arms, came running, and laid his head on my chest to give me a hug. He also waves bye-bye and makes all kind of cave man noises to tell us what he wants. We are so lucky to have Max in our family.

What a cute guy and really cute cakes. I am impressed at what you can do, baby making and cake making. I can't believe he is already 1. More fun to come right?
