We've been planning on taking the family to the Draper Temple openhouse for about a month or two. So in preparation, we've had family home evenings about the temple and have really talked it up. So Friday, Nick had the day off work and we took the kids to the openhouse. We thought that because we went on a Friday instead of Saturday that it wouldn't be as busy, but there were more people than we expected. We waited at the church for nearly 1 hour before they loaded us in a bus to take us up to the temple. There were a lot of stairs in the temple, but the kids did a great job going up and down. Nick was worried most of the time about the kids and didn't get a chance to look around much, but it is very pretty. Because of the location, it is one of the few temples in Utah that you can't see from any main road...it's kind of hidden. It is also VERY windy up there. Afterwards there were cookies at the church and then we rode the bus back home. I think Mabel enjoyed the bus ride and Sam enjoyed his cookie the most.
