Spring has mostly sprung in our neck of the woods. The kids LOVE playing outside and are a lot more excited to dig in the dirt and take walks now that the weather is nicer. They love to walk to the elementary school and play on "Mabel's playground".
Sugar is very excited about the weather too. We've even been outside long enough to shut the gate and let her run without her rope. She stays pretty close, but we still don't trust her. She still loves to chew and has managed to destroy two harnesses by rubbing along the brick wall. She can be a real pain, but I think we'll keep her.
Mabel and Sam really like school. They will actually get out of bed in the mornings for school (Sam complains about going to church, but not school). Max can't wait for preschool next year. Everyone has picked bagels with cream cheese as their favorite breakfast even better than Pop Tarts and Lucky Charms.
Sam is now registered for Kindergarten and has even started to read a little bit. He loves to have his sock pulled up to his knees. He's very tidy and loves any food with cheese: mac 'n' cheese, cottage cheese, ricotta stuffed shells, grilled cheese! As long as there is cheese, he'll eat it. He's getting so tall that I got him a new pair of pants today, he tried them on and I had to tighten them up as much as they would go. I said, "you need to eat more, Sam, so your pants will fit better." In such a sweet tone, he replied back with, "But, Mom, I'm eating as much as I can."
Mabel is starting to read pretty well. She loves kindergarten, dance class, playing the piano (lessons are in order for next year), riding scooters, and playing with her friends. She has peg-leg jeans and likes to wear her hair in a side pony tail (hello '80's flashback). She's very loud and loves to laugh.
Nick and are are still madly in love with each other and are refinancing the house again. We'd love to spend more time involved in yard work, hobbies, or exercise, but instead find ourselves splashing around at the kiddy pool, digging for worms in the garden, and playing our own versions of "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" or "Gator Hunters" with the kids. Life is such an adventure with it's ups and downs and I'm so glad that Nick and I get to do it together!
