Christmas is such an exciting time, but truly exhausting as well. I get so excited for Christmas that I have woken up before the kids have for the last few years and lay in bed for about an hour anxiously awaiting them to wake up. This year, I woke up at 6:00 a.m. and was so excited to hear Max walk into our bedroom at 6:15. By 6:30 the whole house was awake and ready for action.
Sam got what he asked for and it has actually turned out to be really fun for him so far. Bearded Dragons are fairly docile, so Sam can carry it all around the house and it usually just sits on his hand or shirt.
Mabel got what she asked for and to top it off, Sam and Max love to play with her new princess castle, too. I think Beardy has even toured the castle.
After church and playing with a few toys, we got around to making dinner. I made punch for the kids this year and I'm so glad I did....the kids loved the punch more than anything else at dinner.
Christmas was very fun and completely hectic. Between the excitement, toys, and parental help required for EVERY toy, we felt drained by the end of the day. Some of my favorite memories include: helping Mabel assemble her princess castle, playing Candy land with the family, and watching the kids drink their punch like dogs.
This evening, we went to the Grand America to participate in their window scavenger hunt. The kids loved their new toy store, Jou Jou.
And after dinner we enjoyed an amusing game of twister. I think Max and Sugar laid on the mat the entire time and when Alex wasn't rolling around on the mat, he was pulling Mommy's hair while my hands were on the yellow and red circles.
