Our Christmas Story

We had a wonderful Christmas this year filled with lots of fun and family.  On Christmas Eve, Nick and I opened a few presents to each other.  Christmas just isn't Christmas without a box a chocolates and the kids gathered around!

Nick and I enjoyed some of the benefits of mistletoe!

On Christmas Eve we invited Grandma, Grandpa, Brooke, and Kristen over.  We had a wonderful meal.  Grandma, Brooke, and Kristen were all a huge help in the kitchen.

After dinner, Kristen planned a nativity.  Grandma read the story of the Christmas play.

After making a few signs and decorations, the kids got dressed for the play.  Max was the shepard.

The picture below is my favorite memory of this Christmas.  The kids loved playing their parts and were so into the story.  I'm really glad that they are starting to understand the real meaning of Christmas.
Mabel told Grandpa that he was to be the mean King Herod.  Since he was taking on the "mean" role he played a second part in the play as the inn keeper as well.  Princess played a star role as the sheep and was simply outstanding.

Afterwards, we let the kids open a few presents.  Kristen made these super cute super-hero capes and princess cloaks for the kids.
Grandma then played some songs on the piano and everyone jingled their bells, sang, and danced.

On Christmas morning, I was up before the kids and could hardly wait for them to get up.

Around 1:00 Ryan and Tyler's families came over we celebrated with a few finger foods and good company.  We had a wonderful Christmas and love our family so much and are so glad that they came to share in the spirit of Christmas with us.

Thank you for an absolutely wonderful Christmas this year. The little nativity was so sweet, especially with Alex taking the part of the baby Jesus. The food, company, and atmosphere was great! We love ya'll.
