Stay-cation with Kristen

Yesterday, Kristen took the day off work and decided to spend it with us!!!  The kids were very excited to go to the "quarium" (Living Planet Aquarium).  It was a very fun place for the kids to hang out.  They loved the fish, frogs, snakes, alligators, turtles, sting-rays, sea horses, and penguins.

Max squealed over anything that moved!  Here he is enjoying the salamanders.

The jelly fish were also cool.

Sam was stunned by the size of this lobster.  He said, "Mom, for my birthday, I want a BIG lobster cake".  I think Aunt Kristen convinced him that a Godzilla cake might be more fun!

Nick and I got to pet a sting ray.  Nick thought it felt like velvet and I thought it felt more like slime.

It was a lot of fun to watch the penguins waddle, jump, and dive into the water.

Sam didn't eat his breakfast again and began to fall apart about 3/4 of the way through.  So we stopped for a fruit snack break so he could pull himself together enough to finish....if you look close, you can see a giant tear streaming down his face.

After the aquarium, we went to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch, shopping for a swing set and then home for a nap.  Mabel, Kristen, and I went out to get Mabel some new shirts--she grows so fast!  We then detailed Kristen's car, had dinner and relaxed.  It was a fun day.  It is always fun to spend time with Kristen and am so glad she wants to stay-cation with us!

What a fun day!!

Tons of bugs and crawly things. Couldn't be more fun for Sam, Max, and Mabel.
