Week in Review

The holiday hustle is upon us....here's a quick summary of our week.

Monday: Went on a walk to look at Christmas lights in the neighborhood and then had Family Home Evening and learned about baby Jesus. (Sam lost Jesus an hour after setting up the nativity last week, but we finally found him in the window sill just in time for FHE.) During Mabel's evening prayers, she prayed for the snowman, Santa, deer, and bear lawn ornaments we saw while on the walk.

Tuesday: Spent most of the day running errands, taking care of the Ward Christmas party, and putting several hundred dollars worth of Christmas party food on the credit card. I was put on the activities committee three weeks ago, and now am released. (Our ward has one activity a year and now it's over, the Christmas party.) Mabel and Sam met Santa for the first time and liked the candy canes, but not Santa.

Wednesday: Redeemed a raincheck at Target for Sleeping Beauty on DVD and bought Sam's Christmas present. (You'll find out what he got after Santa brings it to him.)

Thursday: Cleaned the house for weekend guests. Nick helped a neighbor move and kids watched Alladin on VHS.

Friday: Found out weekend guests were sick and cancelled. Nick had the day off work and Ashlee went Christmas shopping by herself! Took the kids to Artic Circle (for the first time since the food poisoning incident last spring) for hamburgers and drove around looking at Christmas lights. During Mabel's evening prayers, she prayed for the snowman, Santa, deer, and bear lawn ornaments she saw on the Monday walk.

Saturday: Woke up (surprised nobody had food poisoning) and took the whole family out in pajama's to the grocery store for a donut run. Nick forgot his wallet, so we picked up a little more than just donuts while he ran home. Nick went Christmas shopping by himself! The kids "helped" dad shovel snow while mom made Christmas cookies for the neighbors. Later we delivered some Christmas cookies and visited with neighbors.

Sunday: Went to church. Miraculously, everyone took a nap at the same time when we got home. My sister stopped by for a visit. We delivered more Christmas cookies. After bath time, Sam peed on the newly washed bathroom rug and broke the cold water knob in the bathroom within 10 seconds of each other. Finally, we put the kids down for bed and here we are, updating you on our exciting life.
The kids ready for a pajama donut run....you can just see the excitement in their faces!!!
