Wonderful Week

We have had a busy, super-fun week.  It all started last Sunday with Alex's baby blessing.  Nick did a wonderful job.  We are so blessed to have such a sweet baby in the family.

Nick's brother's family came from Reno for the blessing and for Thanksgiving.  They stayed with Nick's mom in Layton.  We got together on Tuesday to celebrate our nephew, Anton's, second birthday.  We went to the Classic Fun Center in Layton.  The kids always enjoy bouncing.

Mabel tried roller skating for the first time and still got up after falling numerous times and loved it.

We had a $20 gift certificate to Baskin Robins and decided to use it on an ice cream cake.  Mabel and I picked out the pralines and caramel turkey-shaped one!!

On Wednesday, we stopped in at the Sweet's Candy Factory for a tour.  Everyone had to wear hair nets, including Alex.  We made sure to visit the gift shop and stock up on candy before we left.

That evening we celebrated Anton's birthday with a great caterpillar cake that Kris made.

On Friday, Sam indulged in a long awaited bubble bath.  He loves them, but can't take them very often because the bubbles irritate Max's skin, so Max took a bath in our small master bathroom tub instead.

The boys, of course, had to wrestle with Dad.  Nick took the whole week off and helped set up the Christmas tree on Friday.

On Saturday, we went to Temple square to view the lights.

We stopped in the Conference Center to look around and warm up.

We had three snow storms in one week's time.  I think it's funny that the storm that was classified as the "blizzard" seemed to pack the least punch.  It snowed all day yesterday and we woke up to over a foot of snow.  They didn't even get our road plowed until late Monday night so everyone was getting stuck in the snow all day.  Both Nick and I had the opportunity to help push cars out of the snow.

Tonight, we were back to a normal work week.  So here's a few cute pictures of Alex during bath time.  He loves bath time so much that he just smiles the whole time.  He is such a good baby...I think our Heavenly Father knows when to send the good babies!!

We tried out the bumbo tonight and he really liked it.  He's still working on getting his head to steady, but he's getting there.  He is smiling so much lately and I absolutely love it!!

Looks like a lot of fun. Wow that Turkey cake looks like it might have been real good. Ice cream shaped like a Turkey. Very creative - fun buy or gift. :)

It was a great week! thanks for the Utah hospitality. We enjoyed our time with family- we look forward to a visit this next year. The kids are asking about their cousins everyday. Have a wonderful Christmas. Thanks again for all the fun gifts

My two favorite photos:
1. Alex wearing the hair net hat.
2. The whole family wearing hair net hats.

I think it's quite probably impossible to look cool while wearing a hair net hat.

Thanks for the fun post. It looks like you've been up to a lot of fun stuff.

I have to agree wtih Ry, with one exception, my favorite pix of Alex is the one in his Santa hat! I've got to kiss that little Santa right now. The hairnet hat on him is quite funny....poor little man is so innocent, hating the fact that he has to be photographed in that thing, but enduring like a good Mormon boy!
